· TRAMAL is a non narcotic powerful pain reliever used to relieve moderate to severe pain of all types & origins.
· This includes chronic back pain; neuropathic pain; trauma or surgical pain; strain, sprains & breaks; and pain associated with cancer or arthritis.
· TRAMAL is a non funded prescription medicine & is available in various forms including
o Oral drops
o Sustained release tablets
o Ampoules for injectable use
o Immediate release capsules
· TRAMAL works as a centrally acting analgesic. It provides pain relief by binding to two different types of receptors in the central nervous system.
· TRAMAL has been available internationally for more than 25 years and in NZ TRAMAL has been prescribed by doctors for over 10 years.
· The risk of dependence or abuse of TRAMAL is very low. TRAMAL is well tolerated. It is versatile and acts quickly to allow effective management of moderate to severe pain.
TRAMAL Oral drops 10mL Dropper & 30mL Pump – (tramadol hydrochloride) solution 100 mg/mL
TRAMAL Sustained release tablets - (tramadol hydrochloride) 50mg, 100 mg, 150 mg, 200 mg
TRAMAL Ampoules for injectable use - (tramadol hydrochloride) solution for injection 50 mg/mL, 100 mg/2mL
TRAMAL Immediate release capsules - (tramadol hydrochloride) 50 mg
Do not use TRAMAL if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Tell your doctor: if you have any allergies; if you are sensitive to Opioid medicines; if you drink alcohol; if you have any lung or breathing problems, kidney or liver disease, stomach problems or any fits or convulsions/epilepsy; or if you are taking any other medicines, including medicines that you buy without a prescription from your pharmacy, supermarket or health food stop.
Like other medicines TRAMAL can cause side effects. If they occur, most are likely to be minor and temporary. However, some may be serious and need medical attention. Common side effects are dizziness, sedation, fatigue, headache, constipation, nausea and vomiting, sweating and dry mouth.
